Sonnet 6

2025-06-03

We walked the woods in dark of autumn's eve,
As we looked out to ships who gleamt through lace;
Naked upon the sixth sister we thieve -
Clandestine love, I kissed your freckled face;
How swiftly was my heart bewitched that night!
You led it down the torch-lit stony path,
Compelled were corpus et mens to your light,
A band of hemp round trunk and trunk - pure craft;
Perhaps a canvas could not such truth quote?
Vivid the sight, 'twas captured by a lens,
A gate unlocked, allure in ev'ry note,
Let go your fear your treasures forced to fence;
by Zeus Apollo Circe I'd ne'er part
your secrets with, 'til final beat of heart.
